Synopsis: “Miranha” dives into the 1820's kidnapping of a young Miranha girl by two German scientists in the deep heart of Amazon forest. She was taken from his people by the scientists Spix and Martius and given as a “gift” to the Bavarian Royalty. The film examines the effects this event still has in the Miranha community and investigates the scientific approach to “other peoples” in a stark contrast between colonial science and a indigenous way of doing the same approach.
