Camila Kater Produções Artísticas LTDA has been developing original artistic projects and offering animation and training services since 2017. The company began its productions by co-producing the short film CARNE, directed by Camila Kater, which premiered at the Locarno Film Festival and was selected for over 300 festivals worldwide, including TIFF, Annecy, IDFA, AFI, DOK Leipzig, among others, receiving more than 95 national and international awards and qualifying for the 2021 Oscar®, Goya, and EFA Academy Awards. The film was acquired by The New York Times Op-Docs platform in 2021, and now, in 2024, it is the inspiration for the series in development, CARNE, which was selected for the Mifa Pitches 2024 at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival and awarded at the Sunny Side of the Doc Pitching session at the Latam Content Meeting in 2025. Recently, the company created animated music videos of Brazilian music icons using mixed and experimental techniques for Sesc .

CARNE

CARNE series synopsis:
Rare, medium rare, medium, medium well and well done. Through personal and close narratives, women and non-binary people from Brazil, China, Iran, Nigeria, and Spain share stories from childhood to old age about the sometimes ambiguous relationship with their own bodies, and how they experience the gaze of others.

The short CARNE (Brazil, Spain, 2019), proof of concept,
was a great critic and public success since it premiered at
the 72nd Locarno International Film Festival and was an
official selection in over 250 festivals (TIFF, Annecy, IDFA,
Ottawa), receiving more than 95 awards worldwide, being
qualified for the 2021 Oscar®, Goya, and EFA Academy
Awards. Following its accomplishments, in 2021, the short
was acquired by The New York Times Op-Docs.
