"Condomínio Brasil" is a feature documentary that portrays the challenges faced by residents of a Minha Casa Minha Vida housing complex, revealing how the promises of public policy collide with the realities of Brazil’s urban peripheries and expose the country’s social contradictions.
Focused on the Residencial Flora in Guarulhos, São Paulo, the film follows people from diverse backgrounds who now share the same space. It examines how one of Brazil’s largest housing programs provided millions with a home, but also created challenges of coexistence, cultural clashes, internal conflicts, and the adaptation to the rules of a low-income condominium. It is a story about the dream of homeownership — and about the limits of that dream when confronted with real life.
