Three years after her planet is invaded by a mysterious alien race known as the UNI, the young and outgoing Catarina is reluctantly recruited into a dysfunctional military group. Alongside the flirtatious captain Bruno and the witty, sarcastic Pedro Henrique, she must cross and reconnect her country using giant robots called Gyu-Nyu, all while secretly searching for her missing boyfriend. Avante, Nyan! is a 2D animated action-adventure series for children and teenagers that blends fantasy and science fiction in a journey across Brazil. Inspired by anime, it tackles themes such as dictatorship, racism, and identity with humor and sensitivity. Created by Fred Hiro and produced by Sabrina Trentim, the project was selected in the LPG Paraná 002/2023 public funding program.
