Laranjeiras is an artisanal film production company dedicated to creating auteur works focused on diversity, social justice, and Brazilian and Latin American cultural expressions. Working on the production of short films, feature films, and documentary series, the company relies on collaborative processes and attentive listening as pillars of its artistic practice. With a careful and committed approach, it develops projects in dialogue with indigenous, peripheral, and popular communities, collectives, and creators, always in search of new languages and powerful narratives. Carlos, a filmmaker without a film and a homeless citizen, finds a new beginning in the 9 de Julho Occupation of the MSTC (Movement of Homeless Workers). Amidst the collective routine of over 100 organized families, the commitments of the movement, and his trajectory with indigenous peoples, he embarks on a search for a new film – and ends up discovering something unexpected. In the forgotten basement of the building, two men have lived for years on the margins of the occupation itself: Baía, who has lived in the basement for 15 years, and Jorge, a Peruvian who has shared the space, overtaken by garbage and precariousness, with him for 3 years. An occupation within an occupation. Inspired by the atmosphere of Parasite, the film delves into the subterranean layers of the 9 de Julho Occupation, revealing the human and political dilemmas that emerge when the collective must deal with the invisible among the invisible.

PicPek

The Picpek and His Gang series features a group of space environmentalists who receive calls from planets suffering from the devastation of their natural environments. Concerned about the intergalactic ecosystem, our heroes spring into action, led by Master Marina da Mata from atop Mount Pedra Lascada. A space adventure begins to protect planets in solar orbit and others. With intense visual humor and lots of music, this project aims to reach the 6-9 year old age group. The unique aspect of the Picpek project is its innovative way of conveying information about the environment and methods of preservation through adventure, solidarity, and cooperation among the characters.
