Loosely inspired by a true story, the film Um Casamento takes place in the early 1950s and follows the encounter between the young Kalapalo woman Jakuí and the sertanista Ayres Câmara, whose marriage—then prohibited under the regulations of the Indian Protection Service—became one of the major media events of the decade. The project was selected for the Hubert Bals Fund – Script Development (Netherlands, 2022), BrLab Features (Brazil, 2023), Festival Guiões – PT Co-Prod (Portugal, 2023) and Cine Qua Non Lab – Taller de Líneas Argumentales (Mexico, 2022). In 2024, it received awards from the Torino Film Lab – TFL Next (Italy) and the Pop Up Film Residency in Paris (France, 2024).
